This can be observed from the roadside area, among the art shops and food stalls or even by coming down to location and explore through the embankment. Background of this Bali terraced rice fields are coconut plantations. The fields spreading above the small creek look so beautiful, chiefly during paddy season. To get better experience, you can have a closer look but be careful and do not disrupt any plants or the field.
This location is instagrammable and quite appropriate for social media enthusiasts. Actually this beautiful scenery of terraced rice paddies Bali has long inspired many painters and photographers to make their amazing works. When to make a visit? This picturesque landscape should be visited before nine o’clock in the morning to avoid crowd visitors. Besides, you can catch the morning sun rays among the palm trees giving you a tranquil moment.
However, if going to take Bedugul Tour (Ulundanu Beratan Temple, Eka Karya Botanical Garden and Candikuning Market) in Tabanan and surrounding areas, you can also put the Jatiluwih Rice Terrace on your itinerary. The overlay of rice fields here has the background of Mount Batukaru. More interestingly, this site has been included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site since June 2012. Local farmers still cultivate organic rice and local rice variety having longer harvest time.
Optionally, you can also have stopover at Busungbiu rice terrace if you happen to take Northern Bali tours. On the way home to Southern Bali (Sanur, Kuta or Nusa Dua area), after lunch on Lovina Beach, you can stop by here in the afternoon. Here, you can also see terraced rice field of North Bali with different nuance.
In short, whichever tour package you take, you can still make a visit to see rice terrace, whether at Tegallalang, Jatiluwih or Busungbiu.
