Coffee production center
There are a number of areas in the highlands that are suitable for coffee habitat and coffee production centers in Bali. For example:
Banyuatis and Wanagiri in Buleleng District are the centers of Robusta coffee production in North Bali. Here the processing has used a combination of traditional and modern methods.
Pupuan and its surroundings in Tabanan District produce Robusta coffee. Its processing is still simple because it uses firewood.
The Kintamani area in Bangli District produces Arabica coffee which is considered to have better quality than Robusta coffee.
Serving coffee
As time goes by, now in Bali there is modern coffee processing so that it produces good quality coffee and still maintains its original taste.
Spreading over tourist areas such as Ubud, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Kuta and its surroundings as well as Kerobokan and Canggu, there are already many coffee shops that serve delicious coffee flavors. Combined with the expertise of today’s coffee baristas, the coffee offerings are varied and delicious to enjoy.
For tourists who want to bring home locally produced coffee, souvenirs are now available in the form of packaged ground coffee with a distinctive taste and are available in shops spreading across Bali.
More uniquely, Bali also offers civet coffee tourist attractions where coffee processing is assisted by civets who eat the coffee. Then, the coffee bean from the civet droppings are further processed. It is said that the enzymes existing in the civet’s digestive system help produce better coffee.
