The Charm of Tanjung Bulungdaya

One of the main attractions of Bulungdaya Beach is its cape that juts out far into the ocean, creating a dramatic view with sturdy cliffs. From a distance, visitors can enjoy the beautiful panorama of the cape like an old-fashioned bus and the crashing waves hitting the edge of the reef. This place is also often used as a favorite location for fishing enthusiasts and photographers who want to capture the natural beauty of Bali that is still natural.

Exotic Black Sand Beach

Bulungdaya Beach has distinctive black sand, giving an exotic and different impression compared to the white sand beaches in Bali. This black sand comes from volcanic deposits which makes it denser and more comfortable to walk on. The dark color of the sand also creates a beautiful contrast with the blue sea, especially when the sun begins to set.

Temples and Spiritual Serenity

Not far from the beach, there is a temple, Pura Bulungdaya, which adds a sacred and calming impression for visitors. This temple is often visited by local people to worship and meditate. The presence of this temple further strengthens the spiritual nuance of Bulungdaya Beach, making it an ideal place for tourists seeking peace and inner balance.

Heaven for Anglers

For fishing enthusiasts, Bulungdaya Beach is one of the places that must be visited. The waters around this beach are rich in fish, making it a favorite spot for local anglers and tourists. With a calm atmosphere and away from the crowds, the fishing experience here becomes more enjoyable and challenging.

Beach Stalls and Seafood

No need to worry about food, because around Bulungdaya Beach there are several food stalls that serve local dishes such as chicken soto, tipat cantok, grilled corn, young coconut ice and others. Enjoying delicious dishes on the beach with a gentle breeze and the sound of calming waves is certainly an unforgettable experience. Some stalls also provide fresh young coconuts, perfect for relaxing on the beach.

The Best Spot to Enjoy the Sunset

One of the most special moments at Bulungdaya Beach is when the sun begins to set. This beach is the perfect spot to enjoy a spectacular sunset, where the sky changes color to stunning shades of orange, red, and purple. The reflection of the sun on the black sand and sparkling sea creates a romantic atmosphere that is perfect for couples or anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of nature. In fact, according to one of the food stall owners there, there are often foreign tourists who come from Ubud to watch the sunset here.

How to get there?

To reach Bulungdaya Beach, tourists from Denpasar can enter via Bajra Market (turn left) or Jalan Serma Arda (turn left before Indomaret or the Selemadeg Police Office). If you go through the rat route or the rural track (Tanah Lot–Soka), from Tanah Lot turn left at the Puskesmas Pembantu (Pura Puseh Antap Kelod) and follow the asphalt road to Bulungdaya Beach. If you get lost, you can ask at the roadside stalls.

Tourists bringing surfboard from Canggu and surrounding areas often pass through this route to play surfing in Balian Beach or Medewi Beach. Since this route belongs to pioneer path, chiefly the section of Bebali-Antap Kelod is just hardened with concrete and convenient for motorbikes. If driving a car, it is good for one-way only and difficult for two vehicles to pass each other.
